Swimming Coaching Programme

Sports Board Punjab has an extensive sports calendar spanning over whole year aiming at development of players’ skills and providing sports infrastructure and facilities across the province. The latest initiative in this regard is “a 4 Days Swimming Coaching Programme” scheduled from 31st  July, 2017 to 3rd August, 2017 at newly constructed, state of the art, Punjab Int’l Swimming Complex, Lahore for Best Performers and Swimming Coaches in collaboration with Nick Gillingham Swim Academy UK. The scheduled programme is intended to polish the capabilities of swimmers in line with international swimming parameters. For this purpose a team comprising of U.K based swimmers/coaches headed by Mr. Nick Gillingham and Jo Deakins will be visiting Pakistan on scheduled dates and will impart professional training to Pakistani swimming coaches and swimmers.

Salient Features

  • 4-day training program would greatly benefit our swimmers and coaches, and it would also help in unearthing new talent.
  • Age Group for Swimming Coaching Programme will be  (U-12, U-14, U-16 & above).
  • Over 200 swimmers and local coaches will be gathered from all over the country will be provided training and guidance by Olympic gold medalist Nicholas Ghillingham and Jo Deakins.
  • The 4 standout swimmers from the training camp would be sent to the United Kingdom to get training at Nick Swim Academy, UK.

Nicholas Ghillingham

Nick Gillingham a world record holder in the long-course 200-metre breaststroke, English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA world championships, European championships and Commonwealth Games and won many medals.  Nick is very well connected and a big name of respect in British Swimming World and CEO of the world renowned swimming academy Nick Gillingham Swimming Academy UK.
   

Jo Deakins

Jo Deakins represented Great Britain at two Olympics, a Commonwealth Silver Medalist and former British record holder. She is also an excellent Level 4 Coach working with the Nick Gillingham Swim Academy (NGSA) UK. She has 3 European Championships 1991, 1993 and 1997. She holds 1 World Long course championship, 3 World short Course Championships, 2 World student’s games and Ladies Team Captain.
