Sports Board Punjab is going to organize First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship at National Hockey Stadium from September 17-23, 2021.
As many as 12 under-25 teams will participate in the tournament being organized as part of 2023 Oman Women Hockey World Cup preparations. Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will field two teams each in the tournament while Balochistan, Islamabad, Army, HEC, Wapda and Railways will send one team each for the grand hockey tournament.
The trials of Lahore, Faisalabad and Gujranwala divisions will be conducted on August 28, 2021 at National Hockey Stadium at 10.00am while the players from Sahiwal, Sargodha and Rawalpindi divisions will appear for trials on August 29. “The trials of three divisions Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan will be taken on August 30 at the same venue”.
Punjab’s two teams will be announced on August 30 after a lengthy process of trials. The camp training of selected players will start from August 31, 2021.
