The Asian Beach Games is a modern multi-sport event which has been developed by the Olympic Council of Asia and is due to be held every two years. The first games were held in Bali, Indonesia in October 2008 and second games were held in Muscat, Oman in December, 2010. These Games are composed of a variety of modern sports and variants of traditional sports such as beach volleyball.

20 sports i.e. 3-on-3 basketball, Beach water polo, Marathon swimming, Beach handball, Beach kabaddi, Beach sepaktakraw, Beach soccer, Beach volleyball, Beach wrestling, Bodybuilding, Dragon boat, Jet ski, Paragliding, Pencak silat, Sailing, Surfing, Tent pegging, Triathlon, Waterskiing, Woodball are contested in the Asian Beach Games.
