In line with the Chief Minister Punjab's vision, indoor gymnasiums and sports complexes of international standard are being built in every district and far-away regions of Punjab, among which many have been completed. Similarly, the construction of floodlight sports grounds is also underway. The arduous construction of the state of the art Punjab International Swimming Complex has been finalised in accordance with the standards for water sport defined by FINA (Fédération internationale de natation). In order to improve the quality of sports in Punjab, 360 consultant coaches have been hired in all districts of Punjab who, in turn, are receiving guidance from trainers of international quality. Erstwhile, a 'train the trainer' course had been conducted through which Punjab coaches benefited from the training of Olympic gold medalists; said course will have a long-lasting impact on sports in Punjab.
