Punjab Sports Minister Jahangir Khanzada to inaugurate 17th Punjab Special Olympic Games on Nov 8

Punjab Minister for Sports Jahangir Khanzada will inaugurate the Games to promote extra curriculum activities among Special children. Seventeenth Punjab Special Olympics will be held from November 08 to Nov 10th under auspices of Sports Board Punjab, Special Olympic Association Punjab and Special Monitoring Unit (SMU). 1100 special children will participate in these Special Olympics in 9 categories of games including Basket Ball, Badminton, Football, Table tennis, Swimming, Power lifting and Cycling.

Presiding over a review meeting regarding preparations of Punjab Special Olympics Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jahangir Khanzada said present government was taking concrete measures for promotion and rehabilitation of special persons, providing them free education, skills training, job quota and business opportunities along with sports activities for their physical growth. These initiatives will enable them to be equal to normal people overcoming their deficiencies and brighten the country’s reputation utilizing their special God gifted abilities.
