Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar chaired a high-profile online meeting to review the preparations, administrative arrangements and interdepartmental coordination for the CM Punjab Youth Games 2026 here on Tuesday.
Sports Board Punjab Vice-Chairman Malik Salman, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director Admin Abid Shaulkat, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, representatives of the Home Department, Finance Department and School Education Department attended the meeting in person at National Hockey Stadium while all tehsil, district and divisional sports and education officers participated through video link.
The meeting reviewed the progress of preparations and registration and discussed measures to strengthen coordination among departments and educational institutions to ensure maximum participation in the province-wide sporting event.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has directed the officials concerned to intensify efforts to increase registrations for the CM Punjab Youth Games. “The number of registered participants across the province has reached two million”.
Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that further efforts were needed to make the CM Punjab Youth Games a historic sporting event. He stressed the need to increase registrations over the next 15 days, urging private colleges and universities to expand their participation by providing more student data.
Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar also called for increased registration of students from religious seminaries (madrassas). “All relevant departments and institutions must work together to increase the number of registered athletes”.
Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Education Foundation in promoting participation in the CM Punjab Youth Games. He also praised the performance of the District Sports Officer (DSO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Khanewal for their efforts to increase registrations.
Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar announced that all Tehsil Sports Officers, District Sports Officers and Divisional Sports Officers would be granted rankings as per their performance after November 5, the registration deadline. “The performance would be the only criteria for officials to survive in the Sports Department”.
