Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazal-ur-Rehman has presided over an important meeting regarding youth policy and discussed measures to align it with modern-day requirements.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director Youth Affairs M Fahad and a delegation led by Zohra Jabeen Programme Lead United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) also attended the meeting held at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday. Momina Asad and Salman were the other members of delegation.
The meeting discussed important decisions regarding the revision and restructuring of the youth policy in line with contemporary needs. The participants also stressed the need for a comprehensive policy that ensures representation of all segments of young people.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazal-ur-Rehman said that the youth policy should be research-based and responsive to the requirements of the modern era. “The formulation of a sports policy should be based on research and aligned with contemporary trends and needs”.
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazal-ur-Rehman said that the revised policy would take into account children studying in seminaries as well as those receiving special education, ensuring that their needs and interests were adequately reflected.
