Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi has chaired an important meeting to review preparations of the CM Punjab Youth Games at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed and senior officials from the School Education Department, Higher Education Department, Special Education Department, Home Department, Literacy Department, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and educational boards attended the meeting in person while all divisional and district sports officers from across Punjab participated in the meeting online.
During the meeting, the representatives of PITB and other departments gave briefing on the registration procedure and digital mechanism for the CM Punjab Youth Games.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that the CM Punjab Youth Games are a major world-class event being organized by the Punjab government. “The registration for the CM Punjab Youth Games would continue until Sept 25”.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said the CM Punjab Youth Games would feature competitions at multiple levels, including madrasas, special persons, union councils, tehsils, districts, divisions and the provincial level. “This mega event would help identify and develop thousands of new athletes from the grassroots level”.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that the CM Punjab Youth Games is being organized in collaboration with several departments and institutions of the Punjab government. “Around 5 million players would participate in these games while 19 sports would be organized at the university level as part of the Youth Games”.
