Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman and Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi visited the CM Punjab Sports Academies to review the training activities and facilities being provided to the children. Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman termed the massive participation of children in training a highly positive development.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that more than 3,000 children are currently receiving free sports training at the CM Punjab Sports Academies established by the Sports Board Punjab, while the simultaneous training of hundreds of young athletes at Punjab Stadium created a vibrant sporting atmosphere.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi inspected the standard of coaching and interacted with the young trainees and their parents to inquire about the facilities available to them.
The children and their parents expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz for providing them with an opportunity to receive professional sports training free of cost.
Speaking on the occasion, DG Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that the number of children receiving training at the CM Punjab Sports Academies had now exceeded 3,000. “The children will be provided free sports training throughout the year at the CM Punjab Sports Academies,” he said, adding that sports competitions were also being organized among the trainees to help develop their skills and competitive spirit.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said the academies would serve as a platform for identifying and nurturing talented young athletes. “National and international-level players will emerge from these sports academies and bring pride to the country through their performances,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that sports were being promoted practically across the province in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. “The CM Punjab Sports Academies are being opened across Punjab so that children from every part of the province can access quality sports training and facilities,” he said.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said the initiative would provide children with a healthy environment to develop their sporting abilities while also creating a strong pipeline of talented athletes for Punjab and Pakistan.
