Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman has soft inaugurated the Punjab Rising Star Portal, a new digital platform designed to identify, register, and nurture talented athletes and young achievers from across the province.
The portal was formally unveiled at a ceremony held at Punjab Stadium on Thursday and was attended by students from various colleges and universities.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman said the platform will allow athletes and young people to register their achievements. “Punjab Youth Affairs and Sports Department will impart professional training to talented youngsters of the province”.
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman encouraged the young people, particularly those from remote areas of Punjab, to register on the portal so their abilities can be recognized and supported. "The Punjab Rising Star Portal will bring hidden talent to the forefront and create opportunities for deserving youth to excel," he said.
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman also held an interactive ‘Meet with GenZ’ session with students from several educational institutions, including Beaconhouse, Punjab University, UVAS, Superior University, and Punjab College. During the discussion, students shared ideas on youth development and innovation. The session also featured discussions on the proper use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman said that continuous dialogue with youth is essential to better understand their needs and develop policies that support their growth and success.
The officials from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) also briefed participants on the features and objectives of the Punjab Rising Star Portal during the event.
The ceremony was attended by Additional Secretary Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, and Director Youth Affairs M Fahad. At the conclusion of the event, Additional Secretary Shabbir Hussain Cheema distributed certificates among the participating students
