Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman has directed the officials concerned to complete the sports development schemes before June 30. He said that the obstacles in sports development schemes are being resolved.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman issued these directions while presiding over an important meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Monday. The meeting was convened to review sports programs to be held in June and other significant tasks.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Sports Chand Perveen, Director Youth Affairs M Fahad and all the officers of Sports Board Punjab (SBP) participated in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman directed the sports officers to speed up the preparations of Chief Minister Punjab Schools Games. “The progress of schools games and sports programs will be reviewed every Monday”.
Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman said that he is personally reviewing the sports schemes and stadiums in all the districts of Punjab and in this regard, he has inspected the sports complexes of Sialkot, Daska and Gujrat in recent days. “The sports complexes of all the districts of Punjab are being reviewed step by step”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman further said that Chief Minister Punjab has declared 2026 as the year of youth. “An Annual Sports Calendar has also been prepared to provide maximum opportunities to the youth to demonstrate their sports skills adequately”.
Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman said that Punjab Sports Department is utilizing all resources to attract the youth towards healthy activities. “Under the Annual Sports Calendar, sports competitions are being organized every month in all the districts of the province”.
