Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman has said that providing a healthy environment to youth is the prime obligation of Punjab Sports Department and sports officers must utilize all tactics to incline children to the grounds.
Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman shared these views while chairing an important meeting about public awareness of sports facilities at the Punjab Stadium on Thursday.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Sports Chand Perveen and Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed attended the meeting in person while all Divisional Sports Officers of the province participated through video link.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman said that it is the duty of sports officers to share the proper information about sports grounds with youth through social and print media platforms. “There should be a rush of young people in grounds taking part in sports activities”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman said that the youth should have proper knowledge about the grounds of every city. “The mechanism of booking sports facilities should be made easy so that youth should take maximum advantage of sports facilities.”
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman further said that Punjab Sports Department is going to organize a mega sports event like CM Punjab School Games. “Millions of children from different schools, colleges and universities of Punjab will participate in the CM Punjab Games”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman announced that scholarships will be given to the winners of CM Punjab Games. “The students from various madrassas will also participate in CM Punjab Games and numerous fresh talented athletes will emerge from this great platform”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman further said that the performance of all sports officers will be assessed on the basis of their events and activities as per Annual Sports Calendar. “A comprehensive plan should be prepared for proper human resourcing in Punjab Sports Department”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman said that Punjab Sports Department is taking effective measures for the promotion of sports culture and development of youth across the province in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister.
