On the direction of Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Sports Board Punjab has started preparations for mega sports events in April and in this regard Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi presided over an important meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday.
The preparations for mega events were also reviewed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Director Sports Chand Parveen, Idris Haider Khawaja from Punjab Olympic, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, Salman Butt and Atif Shafiq, Mubashra Raza, Hafeez Bhatti and Punjab Olympic Secretary Waqar Ahmed.
Addressing the meeting Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that Sports Board Punjab is going to organize 21-km marathon, 5-km women's race and family fun race in the month of April. "Apart from this, there will also be a special person and wheelchair race and 21-kilometer cycle race in April".
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that CM Punjab Swimming Championship will also be conducted in mid-April. "Thousands of athletes will participate in marathon races, CM Punjab swimming championship and cycling events".
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that Sports Board Punjab is taking effective measures for the development of sports culture across the province.
Punjab Olympic Association CEO Idris Haider Khawaja, Salman Butt and others also gave valuable suggestions regarding the events in the meeting.
