Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar while chairing a high-profile meeting, has constituted different management committees for smooth holding of Khelta Punjab Pink Games, the biggest event for female athletes.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Sulaiman, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali, representatives of the district administration and senior officials of Sports Board Punjab.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the preparations of Khelta Punjab Pink Games have entered the final stages and in this regard, duties have been assigned to Sports Board Punjab and all relevant departments. He directed the officials concerned to arrange best accommodation, transportation, security measures, parking and food arrangements and other essential facilities for the participating athletes.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar stated that the Khelta Punjab Pink Games will officially commence from February 11, marking a historic step towards the promotion of women’s sports in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. “The Pink Games will be the first major sports event of 2026 in which female athletes from across the province will be participating”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar informed that around 3,400 female athletes under the age of 21 from nine divisions of Punjab will take part in these games. “The competitions will be conducted in 20 different sports disciplines, providing young women the opportunity to showcase their skills. During the event, prizes worth millions of rupees will also be distributed among the athletes”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has directed all departments concerned to ensure the best possible facilities for the participating athletes, calling them the pride of the province. He also instructed the officials concerned to arrange walk-through gates, additional washrooms, proper parking facilities, seating arrangements for spectators, smooth entry and exit routes.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar further said that the Pink Games will serve as a major platform for highlighting women’s talent, and the Punjab government is taking all possible measures to promote women’s participation in sports.
