Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has said that the improvement of sports infrastructure across the province is the top priority of the Punjab government. He said this while presiding over an important meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday. The important meeting was convened to review the annual development schemes of Punjab Sports Department. The ongoing and new development sports projects of Punjab Sports Department were discussed in detail during the meeting. Senior officers of Punjab Sports Department and other relevant officials were also present in the meeting. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali gave a comprehensive briefing to the Provincial Minister regarding the overall sports development schemes, expenditures, and progress of the department. It was informed during the briefing that a total of 184 development sports schemes of the Punjab Sports Department are under construction, out of which 88 are new development projects. Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar directed the Punjab Sports Department to further enhance its performance and ensure that all ongoing sports development schemes are completed within the stipulated timeframe. Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the pace of sports development schemes is being accelerated across the province to promote sports culture and provide modern and quality sports facilities to the talented youth. He emphasised that sports played a significant role in engaging young people in the positive and healthy activities.
