Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali has presided over an important meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Friday to review the performance of all Divisional Sports Officers of the province.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum and Director Admin Abid Shaukat attended the meeting in person while all Divisional Sports Officers participated in the meeting through video link.
In the meeting, all Divisional Sports Officers gave a detailed briefing about the events, revenue generation, sports schemes and sports events organized in their respective division. Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Ali also asked the officers about the new players they produced their respective regions.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali said that the income generated from all divisions of the province will be deposited in Sports Board Punjab’s main account. “Punjab Sports Department will issue funds to all districts on basis on their income generation and the accounts of all divisions will be audited to ensure transparency in monetary affairs”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali said that a State Officer will be appointed to streamline all affairs including infrastructure, venues, revenue generation etc in the Punjab Sports Department. “Besides this, sports psychologist and physiotherapist will also be appointed to improve the performance of athletes,” he added.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali has directed the Divisional Sports Officers to visit sports development schemes in their respective areas. “All the sports officers of the province will have to show performance and introduce fresh talented athletes from grassroots level”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali said that all sports officers will be provided vehicles so that they can visit their sports venues, grounds and stadiums regularly to monitor sports activities. “The performance and activities of all sports officers will be reviewed every month”.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry informed the meeting that there are more than 600 sports facilities across the Punjab province. “Several important decisions will be taken about sports committees and accounts in the upcoming General Body meeting of Sports Board Punjab”.
