Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali said that effective and essential measures are being taken for the development of sports culture across the province. He said this while presiding over an important meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Monday.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Additional Secretary Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum and Deputy Director Mirza Nadeem participated in the meeting.
Director General Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry gave a detailed briefing about the working of Punjab Sports Department, Sports Board Punjab, Directorate of Sports and PMU Sports.
During the briefing, it was informed that the General Body meeting of Sports Board Punjab is going to be held soon. Besides this a grand function is also being organized in the coming days to honour the medal-winning athletes of the National Games.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali said that all possible steps are being taken for the growth of sports culture. “The ambit of Sports Endowment Fund is also being expanded for the welfare of the top performing athletes”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali has appreciated the performance of Punjab athletes in the recently-held National Games at Karachi. “Our goal is the development of sports culture and healthy activities among the younger generation”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali said further said that new sports grounds and valuable sports facilities are being built across the Punjab province. “Punjab has been blessed with immense sports potential and Punjab Sports Department is taking effective measures to nurture the talented youth”.
