Director General Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, while chairing two important meetings at National Hockey Stadium on Friday, has directed the Punjab coaches, camp coordinators, team officials and administrators to utilize all resources and energies for the best preparation of Punjab contingent which is going to participate in the upcoming 35th National Games in Karachi.
The meeting was attended by Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, all coaches, administrators of Punjab Sports Department and other relevant officers.
Issuing strict warning to coaches, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that the Punjab coaches will have to show their performance in the training camps being organized at different venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex from November 24 to December 3. “The performance of coaches and players will be monitored on daily basis and strict action will be taken against the coaches with below par performance”.
During the meeting, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry assigned duties to coaches and camp coordinators for imparting best training to Punjab athletes at training camps. “The taekwondo and handball training camps will be organized at Faisalabad while baseball camp will be conducted at Multan”.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that the best accommodation and food arrangements are being made for the athletes during the training camps being conducted for the preparation of Punjab contingent.
Meanwhile, the officials of all sports associations of Punjab participated in the second meeting held at the same venue.
Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, CEO Punjab Olympic Association Idris Haider Khawaja and officials of all sports associations of the province including Arshad Sattar, Irfanullah Khan, Maudood Jafri, Tayyab Sohail and Mubashra Raza participated in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that Punjab contingent will leave for Karachi in three parts on December 3, 4 and 6. “The Punjab squad will participate in the 35th National Games with full preparation,” he added.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry further said that Punjab players will report for camp training on November 23 while the training camps of Punjab athletes will start from November 24. “We are quite confident that Punjab athletes will attain the top position in the upcoming National Games”.
