Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that new talent of dodgeball game will emerge from 2-day SBP Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship; he said this while talking to media at the inauguration ceremony of Sports Board Punjab Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Friday.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal, who was the chief guest at the opening ceremony, inaugurated the 2-day SBP Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship at an impressive ceremony.
All the participating teams, players and officials were introduced to Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal, who also witnessed the exciting matches of the opening day.
Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Administrator NPSC Gymnasium Hall Mustafa Shah, President Punjab Dodgeball Association Mian Rizwan Ali, Vice-President Rana Azar Noor and other officials were also present at the opening ceremony.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal while talking to media said that the game of dodgeball will be included in the Annual Calendar of Sports Board Punjab. “The holding of 2-day Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship in which the teams from eight divisions of the province are participating, is a positive development for the bright future of the game,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that Sports Board Punjab is promoting the game of dodgeball like other sports disciplines. “All possible measures are being taken for the development of sports culture among the younger generation of the province,” maintained.
On the opening day of Sports Board Punjab Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship, the events of foam and fabric ball categories were held.
The teams of Lahore Division and Sargodha Division have qualified for the foam ball final. In the first semi-final match, Sargodha beat Gujranwala by 6-5 sets while in the second semi-final, Lahore defeated Sahiwal Division by 7-4 sets margin.
