A sports gala was organized at Camp Jail on the occasion of 77th Independence Day of the country on Wednesday.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar was the chief guest on this occasion. He also cut a cake along with prisoners in celebration of 77th Independence Day of the country.
A large number of prisoners participated in sack race, running, kabaddi, carom board and badminton competitions during the Independence Day sports gala. Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar distributed prizes among the prominent performers of the above-mentioned games.
Talking on this occasion, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar announced that all necessary sports gear will be provided to players in prisons besides appointing coaches of indoor games. “After Camp Jail, the gyms will be constructed in other jails of the province,” he added.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar also visited different barracks and PCO along with Superintendent Jail Zaheer Virk. DIG Jail, Superintendent Kot Lakhpat Ch Ijaz Asghar were also present on this occasion.
