Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal presided over an important meeting of Institute of Sports Sciences Punjab (ISSP) at his office here on Thursday.
Director Admin M Kaleem, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, Deputy Director Ataur Rehman, ISSP Principal Chand Parveen, Instructor Shaista Qaiser, Admin Officer Malik Nasir were also present on this occasion.
Chairman Sports Sciences and Physical Education Department Punjab University Dr Zafar Iqbal Butt was especially invited to the meeting.
ISSP Principal Chand Parveen and Admin Officer Nasir Malik gave a detailed briefing to DG Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal about the training courses and other key features of Institute of Sports Sciences Punjab.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that Punjab Sports Department will collaborate with Punjab University’s Sports Sciences Department for conducting training courses in future. “In this regard, an MoU will also be signed between Sports Board Punjab (SBP) and Punjab University soon”.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal further said that the coaches are being trained at Institute of Sports Sciences Punjab according to modern requirements. “At the completion of training courses, the certificates will be issued to the best qualified coaches,” he informed.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that the syllabus of the ISSP courses and the qualification of all government and private coaches will be re-evaluated thoroughly. “Punjab University is being included in the advisory committee formed for ISSP and the curriculum of ISSP courses will be certified by the Board of Studies of Sports Sciences and Physical Education Department Punjab University”.
