Exhibiting dominance performance, Lahore division won Rising Punjab Games 2024 Men’s and Women’s Table Tennis Team Event titles at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Thursday. Faisalabad division finished runners up in both the competitions.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail praised the overwhelming performance of Lahore division teams against strong opponents Faisalabad in the Rising Punjab Games table tennis title clash. “Both teams demonstrated glorious game skills throughout the final match which is a good omen for the future of game”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail further said that the competitions of Rising Punjab Games are under progress quite successfully in Nishtar Park Sports Complex. “After Rising Punjab Games, Sports Board Punjab will organize Spring Games as part of our revolutionary Annual Sports Calendar Programme”.
It is worth mentioning that the Rising Punjab Games are being organized as the first event of Sports Board Punjab’s Annual Sports Calendar Programme.
In the Women’s Table Tennis Team Event final match, Lahore girls recovered and won the three successive matches against tough rivals Faisalabad after losing the first match. Faisalabad’s Saba Mushtaq edged out Lahore’s Sana Muzaffar by 3-2 in the first match with the set score of 10-12, 11-7, 10-12, 11-8 and 11-8.
However, Lahore’s Perniya Zaman defeated Faisalabad’s Anam Ilyas by 3-0 (11-3, 11-9, 11-9) and Saba Mushtaq (Fsb) 3-1 (11-3, 11-5, 11-13, 11-2) and Kalsoom Khan toppled Faisalabad’s Aysha Arbab by 3-1 (10-12, 11-4, 11-7, 25-22) to seal a 3-1.
