Two officials and one player of Lahore division hockey team banned on account of serious misconduct and violation of code of conduct in Rising Punjab Games hockey semifinal match

Taking stern disciplinary action, Directorate General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab has imposed ban on two officials and one player of Lahore division hockey team on account of serious misconduct and violation of code of conduct in a recently-played Rising Punjab Games hockey semifinal match between Lahore and Faisalabad at National Hockey Stadium.
As per a notification issued by Director Sports, Lahore division team coach Mujahid Afzal, team official Salman Siddiqui and player Adeel Latif have been banned for showing grave misconduct and making an attempt to derail the Rising Punjab Games 2024 event organized by Sports Board Punjab.
In light of ban orders, the said team officials and player will not be able to participate in any sports event of Punjab Sports Department and Government of Punjab and enter in any sports facility functioning under the control of Punjab government.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, in a statement on Thursday, said that sports activities taught discipline to players. “Team officials and players should follow ethics, rules and regulations of the game”.
He said Sports Board Punjab will continue to organize mega events for the development of sports among the younger generation. “The competitions of Rising Punjab Games are being organized quite successfully”.
