Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail announces the schedule of Rising Punjab Games 2024

Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail has announced that the inter-division competitions of two games - hockey and volleyball will be conducted from January 18 to 22 in the first phase of Rising Punjab Games 2024.
He made this announcement while presiding over an important online meeting of all Divisional Sports Officers of the province at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum and Deputy Directors Zahoor Ahmed and Ataur Rahman attended the meeting in person while all Divisional Sports Officers of the province participated in the meeting through video link.
The key meeting was convened to review arrangements of upcoming Punjab Rising Games. Daily allowance, food, travels, sports gear and other relevant issues of the participating teams were discussed in detail during the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that best arrangements are being made for smooth holding of Rising Punjab Games. “There will be no compromise on discipline and in this regard a strict code of ethics is being formulated. All Divisional Sports Officers will be responsible to implement the code of ethics in their respective contingents.”
Sharing more details of the grand event, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail informed that the inter-division competitions football and badminton will be organised from January 23 to 27 in the second phase. “In the third phase, the inter-division competitions of athletics and table tennis will be conducted from January 30 to February 2”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail further said that more than 950 male and female players from all divisions of the province will participate in the competitions of six games during the Rising Punjab Games. “More than 300 male and female players and officials from all divisions of the province will participate in the first phase competitions of hockey and volleyball”.
All Divisional Sports Officers of the province also gave valuable suggestions to make the Rising Punjab Games a successful event.
