Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail presided over an important zoom meeting to discuss key issues of four divisions - Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Gujranwala and Faisalabad at National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
Deputy Director Attaur Rehman attended the key meeting in person while all Divisional Sports Officers, District Sports Officers and Tehsil Sports Officers of the above-mentioned four divisions participated in the meeting through video link.
Key issues such as establishment of offices of Dos, DSOs and TSOs, utilization of budget, pension cases, inquiries and tehsil-wise number of sports facilities were discussed during the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that definitely it is a big development that a Sports Endowment Fund of Rs 2 billion has been approved. “Besides other important tasks, the amount of Sports Endowment Fund will be spent for the welfare of deserving players.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that the top performing deserving players and veteran athletes will be given monthly stipends under a proper system. “It will be the responsibility of every tehsil sports officer to verify the eligibility of every deserving players and veteran athletes for stipend. After thorough verification, the TSO will forward a stipend case to relevant district sports officer for its further progression and execution,” he elaborated.
