Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman presided over an important meeting regarding Sports Leagues at Punjab Stadium on Wednesday.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar and Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum attended the meeting in person while all Divisional Sports Officers of the province participated through video link.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail briefed the meeting about different features of proposed Sports Leagues while all Divisional Sports Officers of the province also gave useful suggestions in this regard.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman said that several important steps are being taken regarding various sports leagues. “We are considering holding leagues of kabaddi and other traditional sports in the province,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail on this occasion said that the organisation of sports league is the best way to give sufficient playing opportunities to players of multiple games. “Sports league also played a key role in improving the game of athletes. There should be a sports league for every game,” he maintained.
