Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail presided over an important meeting regarding the registration of sports clubs at National Hockey Stadium on Friday.
Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum and Deputy Director Ataur Rahman Khan attended the meeting in person while all divisional, district and tehsil sports officers of Punjab participated in the meeting through video link.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail informed that as many as 2650 sports clubs have been registered so far in the Punjab province. “The club registration process has been extended by 10 days on the insistence of sports circles,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that the best performing registered sports clubs will be given sports endowment fund. “The sports competitions will also be organized among the sports clubs and through this practice new talent will emerge from sports clubs from all areas of Punjab”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail congratulated the tehsil sports officers for their hard work in the process of registration of sports clubs. “Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab will give awards to ten tehsil sports officers with the best performance”.
DG Sports Punjab Dr. Asif Tufail said that the way of fake clubs in sports has been closed. “The process of registration of sports clubs will continue in Punjab till December 5”. All officers of the province gave a briefing to DG Sports Punjab about the process of registration of sports clubs in their respective areas”.
