Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz and Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail visited National Hockey Stadium to inspect the training camp of national junior hockey team on Monday.
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) General Secretary Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali, Olympians Asif Bajwa, Kh Junaid, Dutch Coach Roelant Oltmans and other officials were also present on this occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the training camp of national junior hockey team is being conducted under the supervision of veteran Dutch Coach Roelant Oltmans in preparation of Junior Hockey World Cup scheduled to be staged at Kuala Lumpur from January 5 to 17, 2024.
Talking on this occasion, Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz appreciated the top class training of young hockey players and modern coaching techniques of PHF coaches. He encouraged the young camp probables to participate in the training camp with national zeal and passion and prepare themselves fully ahead of Junior Hockey World Cup.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail expressed his hope that the national junior hockey team will demonstrate excellent performance in the mega event of Junior Hockey World Cup. “Our players are quite talented and we are upbeat that our young outfit will produce encouraging results against the tough opponents from different countries”.
