Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz visited Divisional Public School (DPS) Gujranwala on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz was warmly received upon reaching DPS Gujranwala. He was accompanied by Divisional Sports Officer Gujranwala Faisal Ameer, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Fiaz Mughal, Principal DPS Gujranwala Sajid Jamal and other officials during his visit.
During his visit, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz played cricket with male and female students of DPS Gujranwala. He also gave autographs to several students on this occasion. The officials and students of DPS Gujranwala also had group photographs with him.
Talking on this occasion, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that Sports Board Punjab is taking effective measures for improving the sports facilities in schools on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi. “Our educational institutions including, male and female colleges and schools are true nurseries for producing future sports stars of different games and that’s why we are fully focusing on improving the sports infrastructure in schools,” he added.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz further said that Punjab has plenty of sports talent and Sports Board Punjab is taking all possible measures for nurturing this valuable potential. He directed Divisional Sports Officer Gujranwala Faisal Ameer to organize a maximum number of sports competitions in schools so that the students of this region can keep themselves fit and polish their sports skills.
