An important meeting of newly-established Punjab Institute of Sports Science was held at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday under the direction of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail.
The key meeting was convened to discuss the preparation and formulation of Punjab Institute of Sports Science syllabus for the international standard training and grooming of coaches and athletes of the province.
The meeting was attended by Secretary General Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) Idris Haider Kh, President Punjab Athletics Association Salman Iqbal Butt, Principal Chand Parveen, Chief Instructor Hafeez Bhatti, Instructor Shaista Qaiser, Divisional Coach/Instructor Sajid Ali, Tehsil Sports Officer Nasir Malik, Col Nasir, Mirza Nadeem, Waqar Ali and Tayyab Shafiq. Besides them, the experts of athletics, volleyball, badminton, hockey and football were also present on this occasion.
Different suggestions were assessed in the meeting for imparting latest training to coaches and athletes of the province as per modern day requirements. It was also evaluated in the meeting as to how our coaches could become master trainers and how they can play an effective role in the development of sports culture in the province and transform our athletes into medal winners in international sports competitions.
The participants on this occasion said that the establishment of Punjab Institute of Sports Science is certainly a revolutionary step of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail and it will help a lot in the training of provincial coaches and players according to international standards.
