Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail presided over an important meeting regarding the registration of sports clubs at National Hockey Stadium on Friday.
Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar and Deputy Director Ataur Rahman attended the meeting in person while all district and tehsil sports officers of Punjab participated in the meeting through video link.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that registration policy of sports clubs has been formulated according to which all the sports clubs will be given certificates and other facilities after thorough verification. “A registration branch has also been established where game-wise data of all sports and sports associations will be maintained,” he explained.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail informed that more than 3,500 sports clubs have so far been registered in the Punjab province. “The club registration process will continue till Dec 5. The best performing registered sports clubs will be given a sports endowment fund. The sports competitions will also be organized among the sports clubs and through this practice new talent will emerge from sports clubs from all areas of Punjab”.
