4 th  day of Punjab Institute of Sports Sciences training course Master trainer M Atif Shafiq delivers a perceptive lecture on the topic of Periodisation of Training

The progression of valuable and highly informative lectures under Punjab Institute of Sports Sciences training course was continued on the fourth day at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday. Master trainer M Atif Shafiq delivered a perceptive lecture on the topic of Periodisation of Training in which divisional coaches keenly participated.
Punjab Institute of Sports Sciences Principal Chand Parveen, Chief InstructorHafeez Bhatti and Instructors Shaista Qaiser and Sajid Ali were also present on this occasion. Elaborating the term Periodisation of Training, Master trainer M Atif Shafiq in his lecture, threw light on the working, importance and duration of micro-cycle training programme, meso-cycle, training, macro-cycle training and mega-cycle training programme. He also taught the divisional coaches about physical preparation, technical, tactical, mental, general and specific preparation of athletes ahead of a
competitive sports event. Atif Shafiq also formed groups of the participating coaches and asked them to prepare a 3-month periodisation cycle training programme. After the given time, he reviewed the performance and asked several queries to assess the knowledge of the coaches about the given assignment.
