The preparations for the inauguration of Sports Board Punjab’s first ever Sports Medicine Clinic have started and in this regard a delegation of doctors from Ghurki Hospital inspected various departments of historic Sports Medicine Clinic at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday. The delegation of doctors comprising Dr Khurram, Dr Naeem and Dr Habib also met with Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, who on this occasion said that the Sports Medicine Clinic will be inaugurated soon. “Definitely, the establishment of a Sports Medicine Clinic is good news for provincial coaches and players belonging to different games,” he added. Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that multiple diseases including sports injuries and bone fractures of athletes will be treated at this valuable facility. “Nutrition experts will also provide thorough guidance to the players and about the nutrition, drinks and other relevant things at Sports Medicine Clinic”. The delegation of doctors along with Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail also visited the divisional coaches’ training programme being conducted under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab. Doctors on this occasion asked different questions from coaches about the injuries and fitness. Deputy Director Tariq Khanzada and officers of PMU were also present on this occasion.
