SBP’s online training workshop for coaches concludes

Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that the proper awareness of modern coaching methods is essential for our trainers and coaches, he expressed these views while addressing the participants on the third and last day of Sports Board Punjab’s online training workshop for coaches at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
Deputy Director Sports Chand Parveen, who performed as coordinator for the smooth holding of online training workshop was also present at the training session which was conducted to enhance and polish the skills of coaches.
Besides her, senior provincial coach Shaista Qaiser, Razia Malik, former international female hockey player Sehrish Ghumman, senior weightlifting official Aqeel Javed Butt, senior football coach Shahzad and table tennis coach Yasir Bhatti attended the workshop whereas several male and female coaches of Sports Board Punjab, Directorate General Sports Punjab and Punjab Olympic Associations participated in the workshop through video link.
Addressing the participants of the online training workshop, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail informed that the Sports Endowment Fund of Sports Board Punjab will be activated in December this year under which Sports Board Punjab will be able to get Rs 20 million every month. “After this development, Sports Board Punjab will be in a better position to spend generously on different sports projects and welfare of the sports community,” he asserted.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail further said that training workshops like this are very important for making our trainers update with the latest sports techniques and coaching methods. “There is no doubt that a properly trained coach can play a vital role in the success of his/her team in any game. Sports Board Punjab will continue to organize such informative training workshops”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail also lauded efforts of Deputy Director Sports Chand Parveen for completing the online training workshop quite successfully. He also praised the knowledge and modern training techniques of FIH Academy expert trainer Zahid Ali and awarded him a souvenir.
FIH Academy expert trainer Zahid Ali during his lecture on the last day highlighted the significance of decision-making power of a coach. “A coach must focus on the fitness of his athletes because a perfectly fit player can comfortably accomplish his target and achieve success”.
He also imparted valuable training to participating coaches about game management, importance of warm up, assessing the planning of the opposite team, responsibility of a coach, significance of mental strength and training etc during his highly informative lecture.
FIH Academy expert trainer Zahid Ali told the participants about how to enhance the skills and abilities of a trainer. He said that there is a huge difference in the coaching of an individual or a team and a coach must have enough awareness and command on the techniques for the coaching of an individual or a team.
He praised the role of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail for organizing such an informative training workshop. “Pakistan has plenty of sports potential in every game. Our athletes can win laurels for the country if properly trained and groomed”.
