The sports competitions of ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’ Festival got underway on the directions of Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi at Mini National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.
In the first match of ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’ Festival, Lahore division girls’ hockey team trounced Dera Ghazi Khan by 7-4 on penalty shootouts at Mini National Hockey Stadium on Saturday. Before the penalty shootout, both the teams had scored three goals each in the stipulated time.
Lahore’s Uswa netted two goals while skipper Amina Bibi contributed one goal in the regular time. On the other hand, DG Khan girls also demonstrated wonderful hockey in a well contested encounter scoring three goals through skipper Saima Hameed, Mahnoor and Maryam Abbas in the allotted time.
Sports Board Punjab is organising sports competitions of ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’ Festival under the supervision of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail. The six sports events of ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’ festival will continue till November 12, 2023.
The hockey matches of ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’ festival are being played at Mini National Hockey Stadium from Oct 28 to 30 while the events of Mini Marathon and Road Cycling will be conducted from Liberty Roundabout to Hafeez Center on October 29.
Punjab Stadium will host the Kabaddi event on November 5 and Rustam-e-Punjab Dangal on November 12, 2023 whereas the taekwondo competitions of ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’ festival will be conducted at NPSC Gymnasium Hall on November 7.
