Two-time Olympic gold medallist and international Modern Pentathlon coach Abdel Rauf Hossameldin of Egypt delivered insightful lectures on the second day of 7-day swimming, shooting, running and fencing coaching course at National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
As many as 20 national coaches of modern pentathlon attended the high-profile course being held under the banner of Pakistan Modern Pentathlon Federation (PMPF) and with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab. SBP Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti was also present on this occasion.
Abdel Rauf Hossameldin imparted the latest techniques of swimming, shooting, running and fencing to coaches through demos and videos. He taught the modern skills and methods to Pakistan coaches about how to train a modern pentathlon player.
He said that Pakistan has great potential for the modern pentathlon game and this 7-day coaching course will play an important role in further polishing modern pentathlon skills. “I’m quite upbeat that after learning modern playing techniques, Pakistan players will win more laurels for the country in international modern pentathlon competitions,” he added.
Abdel Rauf Hossameldin praised Sports Board Punjab for taking several effective measures for the promotion of modern pentathlon among the younger generation under the leadership of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail.
