Sports Board Punjab’s the under-16 hockey and mat wrestling trials at district and divisional level are in progress across the province in connection with Talent Hunt Programme under the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail.
In this regard, under-16 mat wrestling and hockey trials were held at Coaching Center and National Hockey Stadium Pitch-2 on Monday.
Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Tariq Khanzada, District Sports Officer Lahore Tanveer Shah, wrestling coach Fareed Ali and Lahore Wrestling Association official Mehr Akram alias Kala Pehlwan were present at the mat wrestling trials whereas the U-16 hockey trials were witnessed by Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Tariq Khanzada and other officials.
As many as 40 under-16 wrestlers from all districts of Lahore division took part in the wrestling trials. Similarly, U-16 hockey players belonging to all districts of Lahore division featured in hockey trials.
Thousands of players from all nine divisions of the province are participating in these trials in three categories - school, club and open. These under-16 trials of Talent Hunt Programme are being organized as part of Sports Board Punjab’s revolutionary 2-year Annual Sports Calendar Programme.
