Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail says the fundamental obligation of Sports Board Punjab is to promote true sports culture across

Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail presided over an important meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Several significant issues including registration of clubs, hiring of new coaches, establishment of new SBP academies and shifting of offices of provincial sports officers were discussed in detail during the meeting.
Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Admin Ejaz Munir, Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Tariq Khanzada, Deputy Director Admin Zahoor Ahmed, Deputy Director Admin Directorate Faisal Ameer Khan and District Sports Officer Lahore Tanveer Shah attended the key meeting in person while all Divisional Sports Officers and District Sports Officers of the province participated in the meeting through video link.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that the fundamental obligation of Sports Board Punjab is to nurture players of different games and promote true sports culture across the province. “To achieve this objective, Sports Board Punjab is making effective and sincere efforts,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that the training camps under Training and Coaching Academies are starting from October 5 to improve the game of the players throughout the province. “Qualified coaches will train players in academies in all parts of the province”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that sports clubs have a vital role in the growth of sports trends among the youth in the world and that’s why we are bringing the clubs in the stream of sports. “Tehsil Sports Officers have been directed to register the sports clubs in their respective areas”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail further said that direct funds will be granted to top performing sports clubs. “Besides this, Sports Board Punjab will also give scholarships to players of sports clubs with handsome performances,” he elaborated.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that several coaches including head coach, coach and assistant coach will be recruited for SBP Sports Academies. “International exposure and top playing career will be essential for a head coach. The head coach will have to enlist his achievements in his career”.
It was also decided in the meeting to shift the offices of all sports officers to stadiums in their respective areas across Punjab. “The sports officers will be in a better position to assess and resolve the issues of players community after shifting of offices in stadiums,” DG Sports Punjab said.
All District Sports Officers explained the problems of their respective areas during the meeting upon which DG Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail issued immediate orders to resolve these issues
