Sports Board Punjab on the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail organized a women exhibition hockey match in connection with Defence Day of Pakistan at National Hockey Stadium Pitch-2 on Tuesday.
Deputy Director Chand Perveen was the chief guest on this occasion. A large number of hockey enthusiasts were also present on this occasion. The players of both the teams were introduced to the chief guest and also had group photographs.
The match was played between Fatima Jinnah XI and Begum Rana Liaqat Ali XI. Fatima Jinnah XI edged out Begum Rana Liaqat Ali XI by a narrow margin of 2-1 goals.
The players of both the teams showed excellent game and played aggressive hockey during the exhibition hockey match. However, Fatima Jinnah XI emerged winners with a slim margin.

LAHORE (Sept 12, 2023): First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship will be organized under the auspices of Higher Education Department and with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab and Directorate General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab from Sept 14 to 18, 2023.
The opening ceremony of the First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship will be conducted at Punjab Stadium. A hefty amount of Rs 11.74 million will be distributed among the top position holders. The sports events of First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship will be arranged at 16 different venues of the provincial capital.
As many as 2,241 participants including 1,026 boys, 828 girls and 387 officials will take part in the 5-day mega event. The male players will feature in nine game disciplines while the female players will exhibit their potential in seven games.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail in a statement on Tuesday said that First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship will provide a suitable platform to hundreds of young talented athletes of the province to demonstrate their talent. “We are quite upbeat to find several promising athletes through this championship”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail has directed the officials concerned to make befitting arrangements for the smooth holding of all sports competitions of grand event. “Sports Board Punjab will provide best facilities to all participating male and female players”
