Competitions of First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship get underway at different venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex

The competitions of First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship got underway at different venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Friday.
The First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship is being organised under the auspices of Higher Education Department (HED) and with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab (SBP) and Directorate General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab till September 18, 2023.
The athletics competitions of First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship commenced at Punjab Stadium, badminton and mat wrestling events at NPSC Gymnasium Hall while National Hockey Stadium Pitch-2 is hosting women’s hockey event.
Deputy Director Chand Perveen was the chief guest at HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship competitions. She was introduced with all participating players and officials who also had group photographs with her. Deputy Director HED Waqas Akbar and Assistant Director Zarina Waqar were also present on this occasion.
As many as 2,241 participants including 1,026 boys, 828 girls and 387 officials from all divisions of the province are taking part in the First HED Inter-Collegiate Sports Championship.
A huge amount of Rs 11.74 million will be distributed among the top position holders of male and female sports competitions of this grand event. The male players are participating in nine game disciplines while the female players are exhibiting their potential in seven games.
