Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail unfurls national flag at the colourful ceremony to mark the 76th Independence Day of the country

Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail unfurled the national flag at the colourful commemorative ceremony organized by Sports Board Punjab and Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab to mark the 76th Independence Day of the country at National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
The colourful Independence Day ceremony was attended by Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan, Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Divisional Sports Officer Tariq Khanzada, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, Assistant Director M Sajid, District Sports Officer Tanveer Shah, senior provincial coaches Raees ur Rehman, Zarina Waqar, TSO Nasir Malik, former international women hockey player Razia Malik. A large number of sports enthusiasts and SBP employees were also present on this occasion.
National Anthem was also presented on this occasion. Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail and all participants stood up in respect of National Anthem at the colourful Independence Day ceremony.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail awarded certificates to Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, Assistant Director M Sajid, District Sports Officer Tanveer Shah, senior provincial coaches Raees ur Rehman, Zarina Waqar and former international women hockey player Razia Malik on this occasion.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail also distributed appreciation certificates among male and female athletes of SBP summer camp. Sweets were also distributed among all the participants of colourful Independence Day ceremony.
Addressing the colourful Independence Day ceremony, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail congratulated all the participants of the ceremony on this auspicious occasion. He said Pakistan is a huge blessing for the inhabitants of this region and we must put up maximum efforts to strengthen our beloved motherland.
Praising the national spirit of sports persons, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that there is no doubt that athletes belonging to any game performed their duties and served the country more diligently than other people. “Undoubtedly, youth is the future of our country and I believe that all sports persons and athletes will work whole-heatedly and with full devotion for progress and better future of the country,” he elaborated.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail also lauded the role and services of minorities in the independence movement. "Pakistan is incomplete without minorities. The white part of our national flag reflected the presence of minorities in our country," he added.
