Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail planted java plum saplings outside Punjab International Swimming Complex and National Hockey Stadium as part of Tree Plantation Campaign on Friday.
Additional Secretary Sports Nabeela Irfan also planted a sapling outside Punjab International Swimming Complex.
Director Admin Ijaz Munir, Deputy Directors Zahoor Ahmed, Rauf Bajwa, Punjab International Swimming Complex Administrator Amir Shah and other officials were also present on this occasion.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, on this occasion said that trees are a sign of healthy and well civilized society and that’s why we should grow maximum number of trees in our surroundings. “Every citizen of the country must take part in tree plantation drive with full devotion. Trees help a lot in cleaning the environment and we can combat with climatic challenges in a befitting manner through this campaign”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail also visited under-construction mosque outside National Hockey Stadium the same day. He directed the officers concerned to complete the construction work of mosque as early as possible.
