Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail chairs key meeting with representatives of 11 more sports associations

Representatives of 11 more provincial sports associations called on Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail in the third meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
These meetings are being called up with an aim to formulate a compact strategy through which Punjab athletes of different games could produce better results in future national sports competitions.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, who shared his personal email and mobile number with representatives of sports associations, directed the representatives of provincial sports associations to develop a better coordination with Sports Board Punjab.
Addressing the meeting Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail directed the sports associations to put focus on players’ quality coaching, training, fitness, diet and other facilities for medal-winning performance in future sports events. “For this purpose, we will have to start our work from today,” he added.
He said that the trend of paralleled sports bodies in the province is highly injurious for the future of sports in the country. “The hierarchy of paralleled sports bodies should realize the gravity of this harmful trend especially for the talented athletes of the country”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that Sports Board Punjab is going to introduce stipends for talented athletes in the next financial year. “This move is aimed to motivate male and female athletes to win medals in future sports competitions”.
After the meeting, a question-answer session was also conducted in which representatives of the sports associations asked different questions regarding their multiple issues.
The presidents and secretaries of 11 sports associations including Salman Iqbal Butt of Punjab Athletics Association, Naeem Akhtar and Dr Nabeel Ahmed of Punjab Bodybuilding  Association, Mirza Nadeem of Punjab Football Association, Asif Iqbal and Sh Tariq of Punjab Judo Association, Waqar Ahmed of Punjab Cycling Association, Sharjeel Zia Butt of Punjab Boxing Association, Amanullah Shan of Punjab Archery Association, Raja Gohar of Punjab Chess Association, Pervaiz Ahmed of Punjab Gymnastics Association, and Asif Naz Khokhar of Punjab Hockey Association attended the meeting
