34th National Games start in Quetta with a grand opening ceremony

The 34th edition National Games started in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan with a grand opening ceremony on Monday.
 The Punjab contingent was led by Director General Sports Punjab Dr. Asif Tufail in the March Past.  The players wearing very beautiful clothes saluted the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif in the March Past. The chef de mission of the Punjab contingent, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman was present on the stage.
All the provinces and leading departments of Pakistan also marched past and saluted the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Olympian athlete Arshad Nadeem led the march past. The torch of the 34th National Games was also lit on this occasion. The colors of Balochistan's culture and beautiful cultural performances of Pashto, Sindhi, Balochi and Punjab were also presented in the opening ceremony.
Talking on this occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman praised the performance of the Punjab team. He said that the players of Punjab are entering the field with full preparation. It is expected that they will win more medals than other contingents. Director General Sports Punjab Dr. Asif Tufail also met with the players of Punjab contingent. He said that Punjab players will have to perform better than all the provinces. He expressed his hope that Punjab will be at the top in the medals table among provinces.
The players assured DG Sports Punjab that they will offer excellent performance in the National Games. The players also have group photos with the guests of honour.
Provincial Sports Minister Balochistan Abdul Haq Hazara, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Secretary Sports Balochistan, Secretary PbOA Idris Haider Khawaja and others were present on the stage.
District Sports Officer Rahimyar Khan M Ashfaq, DSO Khanewal and other officials were present in the grand opening ceremony.
