Big news for national hockey players as the new FIH approved synthetic Astroturf has reached the National Hockey Stadium from Belgium with the efforts of Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi on Friday.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi in his statement congratulated the national hockey players and said that the game of hockey will be promoted to a great extent after the laying of new synthetic Astroturf in the National Hockey Stadium. “The long-standing demand of the hockey players has been fulfilled and now the hockey players will be able to improve their game as per international standard,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said Sports Board Punjab has always given importance to hockey. “Our hockey past was glorious and now we are striving hard to regain the lost prestige in the game of hockey”.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that international hockey matches will also be held on the new synthetic Astroturf. “We are also constructing a world class Hockey High Performance Center to prepare and groom our players as per modern challenges,” he added.
