Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood presides over SBP General Body meeting

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Taimoor Masood presided over General Body Meeting of Sports Board Punjab at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday evening.

Vice Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Nadeem Abbas Bara, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhatta, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi , Additional Secretary Malik Sanaullah, International Tennis Star Aisam-ul-Haq, Former International Hockey Player Rana Zaheer, Vice Chancellor GC University Dr. Asghar Zaidi, Secretary Pakistan Wrestling Federation Arshad Sattar, Secretary Punjab Olympic Association Idrees Haider Khawaja, DGP PITB Sajid Latif, DIG Police Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, Film Star Shan Shahid, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Khurram Bashir, Section Officer Finance Department Shehzad Ali, Head of Sports Kinnaird College University Amara Rubbab, Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan and Assistant Director Zahoor Ahmed were also present on this meeting.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan gave a detailed briefing about the performance of Sports Board Punjab, sports development schemes and other key features in the General Body meeting.

It was decided in the meeting to give monthly stipend to 200 players who have performed outclass at Punjab level. Addressing the meeting, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said every player will be given a monthly stipend of Rs 15000 by Sports Board Punjab". It was also approved in the meeting to give cash prizes to the players who performed outstandingly at the international level. For the first time in history, board has approved the increase of daily allowance of players and officials from Rs 800 to 1200 to 1500 rupees and also accommodation allowance of players and officials has been increased to Rs 2000.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said that Sports Science and Medicine Center will hire eminent doctors of the country. He said that our Players will get free treatment at Hameed Latif, Ghurki Hospital and Jinnah Hospital as these hospitals will be on our panel.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said that for the first time in history, the allowance of officials has been approved to be increased.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood further said that Decision has been taken to establish a committee to keep sports facilities in the name of top local players in Punjab. He said that new posts were approved in Sports Board Punjab. A proposal has been considered to establish Sports Board Punjab's sports TV channel. He said that many reforms in sports are being done for the first time.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said after 12 years, an annual grant of Rs 3 crore 8 lakh has been issued to 40 sports associations of Punjab.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta on this occasion said Provincial Sports Minister is taking vigorous steps to promote sports in Punjab.

He said that the work to modernize the sports infrastructure is going on rapidly. "More than 500 modern sports facilities are available to players across Punjab," Ehsan Bhatta said.

Director General Sports Punjab M Tariq Qureshi said that SBP has started a talent hunt program in educational institutions. He said we will find 10 lakh new players from schools and colleges.
