Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi distributes cricket kits among 31 school cricket teams participating in Punjab Schools Cricket Championship

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi launched cricket kit of Punjab Schools Cricket Championship at a ceremony organised at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday evening.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, who was the chief guest on this occasion, also distributed cricket kits among 31 participating school teams.

Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan, District Sports Officer Lahore Tanveer Shah, captains, team officials and players of all participating teams were also present in the ceremony.

The matches of Punjab Schools Cricket Championship will continue till October 16, 2022 at different venues of the province under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab (SBP), Municipal Corporation Lahore (MCL), School Education Department (SED) Punjab and District Sports Office Lahore.

Talking on this occasion, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that Sports Board Punjab is taking all necessary measures for the promotion of cricket in all parts of the province. “Punjab Schools Cricket Championship is being organised with an aim to trace fresh talent from all leading schools of the province,” he added.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that there is no doubt that cricket has turned out to be a passion of our youth and we are quite upbeat that several of these participating players of Punjab Schools Cricket Championship will be able to serve the country at national and international level in future.
