Punjab Open Tennis Championship 2022 concludes at State-of-the-Art Tennis Courts

Punjab Open Tennis Championship 2022 concluded at State-of-the-Art Tennis Courts adjacent to Punjab International Tennis Stadium, Nishtar Park Sports Complex here on Tuesday.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi was the chief guest at the grand closing ceremony of Punjab Open Tennis Championship organised under the aegis of Sports Board Punjab.

Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Deputy Director Rana Nadeem Anjum, Assistant Director Rehmatullah, former Davis Cupper and Secretary Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) Rashid Malik and other officials were also present on this occasion. Former Davis Cupper and Secretary PLTA Rashid Malik also presented a shield to Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi was warmly received upon reaching the venue. He also witnessed thrilling final matches and later distributed trophies and prizes among the prominent performers of Punjab Open Tennis Championship. The participating players and officials also had group photographs with Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi on this occasion.

Talking to media, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that the State-of-the-Art Tennis Courts are a wonderful addition in the network of top class sports facilities prepared by Sports Board Punjab across the province. “These courts have been prepared in a scientific manner on the pattern of international standard courts used in US Open Tennis Championship,” he elaborated.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that the holding of Punjab Open Tennis Championship at new courts has proved to be a successful experience. “We are quite upbeat that these courts will play role in tracing new talented tennis players who will earn laurels for the country in international tennis competitions in future”.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that the newly built State-of-the-Art Tennis Courts are Pakistan’s number one courts. “We will organize more sports events including tennis championships to trace fresh sports talent of different games as well. Sports Board Punjab is making effective efforts for the development of tennis among youth of the province,” he explained.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that newly constructed State of the Art tennis courts are playing key part in the promotion of tennis. “We are planning to stage international tennis matches on the new courts in future,” he added.

singles, boys U-18, girls U-18, boys U-16, boys U-14, boys/girls U-12, boys/girls U-10, boys/girls U-8 and boys/girls U-6 age group categories.
