Pakistan’s top athlete Shajar Abbas called on Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood at National Hockey Stadium here on Thursday. Director Admin Syed Omair Hasan was also present on this occasion.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood and sprinter Shajar Abbas exchanged views regarding promotion and development of athletics in the province during their meeting.
Talking on this occasion, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said that Shajar Abbas is the hero of the nation. “Punjab Sports Department will confer scholarship to him so that he can prepare himself appropriately for the future international athletics competitions,” he added.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said Shajar Abbas is the fastest athlete of the country and he exhibited excellent performance in the 200m event at recently organised Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. “Shajar has already proved his extraordinary talent in athletics events in Iran, Turkey and other countries,” he informed.
