Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi distributes prizes at the closing ceremony

Pakistan team exhibited a wonderful game and won the 3rd International Savate Championship with 8 gold 4 silver medals against Sri Lanka at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Friday.

On the other hand, the guest Sri Lankan team grabbed 6 gold and equal number of silver medals in the championship held under the auspices of Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi distributed prizes at the closing ceremony of 3rd Pak-Sri Lanka International Savate Championship.

Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, President Sri Lankan Savate Federation Prasad Wickramasinghe, DSO Tanveer Shah, Secretary Ambreen Iftikhar and administrator NPSC Mustfa Shah and other officials were also present on this occasion.

Later, Pakistan and Sri Lankan contingents and their officials also had group photographs with Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi at the concluding ceremony. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi also witnessed thrilling final competitions on the last day of the championship.

Talking to media at closing ceremony, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi congratulated the medal winning players and appreciated the fighting competitions between both the teams. “Sri Lankan team demonstrated wonderful game skills and discipline in the championship”.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that several talented players will emerge from this championship. “Sports Board Punjab will continue to provide a suitable platform to talented players to showcase their talent”.

President Sri Lanka Savate Federation Prasad Vikramasinghe on this occasion expressed his pleasure over the successful holding of the savate championship. “The players of both the teams exhibited excellent performance in the championship”.

Prasad Vikramasinghe thanked Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab for extending wonderful hospitality for his contingent. He also lauded the efforts of DG Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi for the promotion of the savate game in Pakistan”.
